Grob Challenge Revisited

Anyone interested in a Grob Challenge? The idea is simple: Reach your chosen weight loss goal or play nothing but the Grob opening (1. g4) for a predefined time period. Die Hards are free to play Grob (or Borg) as black for extra punishment.

My own Goal is to loose X (soon to be defined) kilos before Mid March next year and play Grob for the rest of the year should I fail.

  1. By June 21 this year, I will be back down to the weight I was last August. And then, I will lose another ten pounds by August (putting me at a weight last seen in the summer of 1991 when I was doing roofing work during summer break from grad school).

    My weight loss program: good food in small quantities, paired well with good wine. Low salt, reduced carbs. Five to ten hours of walking per week, plus Wii bowling, golf, boxing, etc.

  2. Sounds like a very doable regime and most likely a regime that will keep the lbs's off! I have had an excellent grob challenge before but all the fat has bounced right back where it came from.

    1. I walk less in the winter, and eat more. Such behaviors are making things harder as I age. Last summer, it was not until mid-July that I lost the ten I accumulated over the winter. This winter, I maintained summer weight through December--one month longer than the previous winter.

  3. I lost 20 kilo since januari first. I assume that that dismisses me from playing the Grob.
